Chastising Chassid: A Quebec Jew, and former Chassid, is seeking to hold the provincial government responsible for allegedly depriving him of a secular education. According to The CJN‘s Janice Arnold, it is the “first legal challenge of its kind in Quebec,” which has long tried to resolve so-called “illegal” ultra-Orthodox schools for years.

Israel

Thai Trooper: Israel welcomed its first Thai soldier into the IDF this week. Marissa Avram, 18, was raised in Bangkok by an Israeli father and a Thai convert to Judaism.
