Your Daily Spiel is The CJN’s (almost) daily roundup of trending stories in the Jewish world.

Canada

Denier Dies: Infamous Holocaust denier Ernst Zundel has died, at the age of 78. Zundel was deported from Canada in 2005 and was considered one of the most active Holocaust deniers in the world.

United States

Deep-Water Dershowitz: Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) accused Alan Dershowitz of being a racist. The comment was in regards to Dershowitz saying that Washington, D.C. “has an ethnic and racial composition that would be somewhat less favourable” to Trump. Dershowitz stood by his comments, saying “race matters” and that, “She [Waters] ought to be ashamed of herself.”

Arts & Culture

Fascist Fashionista: A popular online clothing firm, KA Design, has removed from its store a series of shirts featuring rainbow swatsikas, following a public outcry. Alluding to the symbol’s ancient Hindu roots, the company said it wanted to “de-Nazify” the swastika.

Israel

Apache Accident: A helicopter crash Monday night resulted in the death of Maj.  David ‘Dudi’ Zohar, 43, an Apache pilot. His co-pilot was rushed to hospital in serious condition.

Act of the Day

No Respect: Ease back into work after a nice long weekend with American-Jewish comedian Rodney Dangerfield. Here he is being interviewed by Johnny Carson.
