The Toronto Jewish Film Festival (TJFF) is highlighting Paul Soles this year. Here’s where you can watch him on the big screen:

Take 90: A Paul Soles Comedy Program (May 5, 6 p.m., Alliance Francaise). This free 90-minute showcase will feature the short film, Mortimer Griffin and Shalinsky, which is based on a Mordecai Richler story, Ligging About, a televised 1966 comedy revue, and some of My 90-Year-Old Roommate. There will also be a live panel featuring Soles, his former Take 30 co-host Mary Lou Finlay, Ethan Cole and others.

The Making of a President, 1944 (May 5, 3:30 p.m., Alliance Francaise). This free 60-minute screening co-stars Harvey Atkin and was written by Morley Torgov, who are both being highlighted by the TJFF this year, as well. In this story of Jewish life from wartime Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., a 15-year-old Mike Myers plays Soles’s son.

Falling Over Backwards (May 10, 3 p.m., Innis Town Hall). Saul Rubinek stars as a middle-aged teacher who, after a divorce, moves back in with his father, who’s played by Soles. The dramedy was warmly received by critics and earned Soles a Genie nomination.
