Home gym units

In my last article I spent a lot of time on cardio equipment for your workout room, now I want to share with you some of the options in resistance training equipment for you.

In my last article I spent a lot of time on cardio equipment for your workout room, now I want to share with you some of the options in resistance training equipment for you.

We all know that producing muscle is good for your body and overall health but how do we do that? Well there are many different ways of doing that, all you really need to start is an exercise ball or a bench, small weights or bands and a small piece of floor.

Home gym units are great there are so many out there and everyone wants to sell you the biggest most expensive piece. Truth is, if you are older or a beginner, and joints are a problem, looking into a home gym unit maybe your best bet, a machine will support you and help keep you in proper form easier then having to use free weights. I again tell my clients to shop around and sit in the equipment, give it a try. Some machines are heavier then others, you just want to make sure the piece has most if not everything you want to work your body and that you can lift it.

Most machines come with a book and or a poster like instructional manual to show you different exercises you can do. I recommend a trainer or expert in the field to show you how to properly, effectively and safely use your equipment. There are other choices besides a big piece of equipment; I personally like variety so I don’t have a home gym unit but many different, but smaller pieces for my gym.  Such as, a bench, an exercise ball, a variety of free weights, body bars, tubes, medicine balls, Pilates ring and balls as well as some fit disks for core training. You do not need all that to get started but I think you get the idea. I always recommend hiring a trainer to make sure you are working out safely and effectively.

The last thing you want to do is work really hard for nothing or hurt yourself.
