Three people were injured following a suspected terrorist attack in Rishon Lezion Monday afternoon, reports Ynet News.
The suspect has reportedly been apprehended and is currently in police custody.
Reports claim that the alleged terrorist stabbed a 35-year-old man on a bus, wounding him lightly-to-severely, before making his way to a second site nearby where he stabbed an 80-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man.
The injured were rushed to the Assaf Harofeh Medical Centre.
According to Ynet, Israeli citizens intervened and were able to subdue the suspect before police arrived on the scene. One eyewitness said that the “terrorist entered a bakery and ‘went wild’ with a knife, stabbing anyone who passed his way.”
The suspect also reportedly entered a cosmetics shop where he vandalized some of the merchandise.
“When we arrived on Herzl Street, near the bakery, an 80-year-old-woman was lying on the sidewalk, conscious, bleeding from a stab wound suffered to her upper body,” a Magen David Adom paramedic told Ynet at the scene. “We gave her emergency treatment and then evacuated to the hospital when her condition is moderate-to-serious. ”
