Canadian Jewish community increases security, following Pittsburgh attack
In the wake of the deadly shooting at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue on Oct. 27, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs said that while there is “no information whatsoever to suggest an elevated threat to Jewish communities in Canada,” it has confirmed that police have increased their presence and boosted patrols near Jewish facilities across the country.
Toronto native killed in Pittsburgh attack
A Toronto-born woman was one of the 11 people killed in the deadly attack on Pittsburgh’s Conservative Tree of Life synagogue on Oct. 27. Joyce Fienberg, 75, was a mother to two sons, grandmother to six grandchildren and a staple of her Jewish community in Pittsburgh.
