Collection and Processing of Personal Information

TheCJN.ca collects subscriber information such as name and email address to activate delivery, send notifications and updates regarding the paper and its features. We may also collect billing information such as your credit card details and billing address where appropriate. The CJN may ask if you wish to receive information on other services, contests or news about the paper and its partners. You are always given the option to decline such offers or to unsubscribe to our online service.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file sent to the user’s web browser from a website and is stored on the user’s computer hard drive. The cookie contains no identifying information about the user and cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to the user’s  computer.   

This data is used additionally to:

  • manage the website
  • save passwords and preferences, so the subscriber will not have to re-enter them on the next visit to the CJN’s website
  • carry out research on our user’s demographics, browsing behaviour and interests, and improve our website services

Most internet browsers accept cookies by default. You can adjust your settings to disallow the use of cookies however in so doing you may be unable to access the full features on our site.

Security

The CJN will not sell your personal details to any other organizations. Furthermore, all personal information is stored on  servers equipped with firewall technology.  If at any time you decide you do not want to receive our subscription service, promotional e-mails about our latest offers or  new services, please notify [email protected] and your personal details will be removed from our database.
