When 19-year-old Israeli basketball player Deni Avdija was drafted to the Washington Wizards, Jewish NBA fans went nuts. The Wizards have since created websites and social media accounts in Hebrew to cater to their newfound fans. To chat about the effect Deni’s had on the team and the city, the Menschwarmers are joined by Fred Katz of The Athletic.

Menschwarmers is hosted by James Hirsh and Gabe Pulver, and produced and edited by Michael Fraiman. The theme music is “4bstr4ck3r” By Brass (feat. Daman). It’s distributed by The CJN Podcast Network. Follow the Menschwarmers on Twitter and The CJN Podcast Network on Twitter and Facebook. You can find Fred Katz on Twitter and at The Athletic.

The Canadian Jewish News proudly offers independent national coverage on issues that impact our audience each day, as a conduit for conversations that bridge generations.

It’s an outlet you can count on—but we’re also counting on you.
