Established in 1913, The Ezras Noshem Society was a mutual benefit society for Jewish women “comprised entirely of working-class women”. Their efforts lead to the establishment of the Jewish Old Folks’ Home on Cecil street in 1917 and the founding of Mont Sinai Hospital on Yorkville Avenue in 1921.
The Canadian Jewish News is now a Registered Journalism Organization (RJO) as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency.
