The “battle” that you refer to in “Battle Brewing at B’nai Brith Canada” (CJN, Dec. 6) is an internal matter that has been settled by B’nai B’rith International’s 164 year old Court of Appeals system, as mandated by the B’nai B’rith constitution.

B’nai B’rith International fully endorses B’nai Brith Canada’s leadership, both volunteer and professional, and commends the organization for its outstanding work in combating anti-Semitism and racism, and for its superb government relations, pro-Israel advocacy and its affordable housing and community volunteer service programs. B’nai Brith Canada is a valued member of the B’nai B’rith International family.

B’nai B’rith continues to play a vital role in ensuring the welfare of Canada’s Jewish community and the global Jewish community. The appeals process provided a forum for B’nai B’rith members to express their concerns. The process, which has served our organization well since 1843, has now run its course. We stand by the decision and look forward to getting back to our good works.
