Two Jewish men were assaulted in early morning attacks in the Crown Heights neighbourhood of Brooklyn, New York.
The attacks took place after 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
One of the attacks was captured by a surveillance camera. It shows three teens attacking an identifiably Jewish man by knocking him over, and then violently punching and kicking him. The man, 51, required hospitalization for his injuries, the New York Post reported.
A 22-year-old yeshiva student from Australia identified as Mendel, was the second victim. “They didn’t say anything at all,” Mendel told the Post. “Next thing I know, I was on the floor — my yarmulke and glasses in the gutter somewhere.”
The attackers did not rob their victims.
Two men, ages 18 and 21, were arrested in the attacks and charged with assault and hate crimes in connection to both incidents, the Post reported. A third man is being sought.
There have been several attacks on identifiably Jewish people in recent weeks.
