A kosher butcher shop has voluntarily recalled certain products it sells due to a risk of listeria bacteria contamination.
Quebec’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food issueded a warning not to consume beef knackwurst sausages made and sold at J&R Kosher Meat & Delicatessen in Côte St-Luc.
The recall applies to beef knackwurst sausages sold in refrigerated packages of four until Jan. 28.
The food safety officials advise that anyone who bought them to throw them out or return them to the store. Products contaminated with listeria do not necessarily show any signs that they are inedible, such as an off smell.
