Israel has indicted seven people for setting up and aiding a cell linked with the Islamic State terror group.
Four of the seven, all of whom are Israeli Arabs, have been charged with setting up a terror cell in the Nazareth area that planned to carry out attacks on behalf of the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, according to Israeli reports. An additional three people have been charged with providing weapons aid to the terror cell.
The four terror cell members — Ahmed Mahajneh, Mohammad Sharif, Mohammad Gazalah and Ahmed Ahmed — planned to carry out attacks with guns, molotov cocktails and firebombs on military and civilian targets near the northern Israeli city of Migdal Haemek. Ahmed is currently serving a life sentence for the 2009 murder of Yafim Weinstein.
The group connected with ISIS through an Israeli Arab who is currently fighting with the organization. According to the Times of Israel, there are some 40 Israeli Arabs who have crossed into Syria to join ISIS.
