Israel

Europe

Malicious MikeA hot-mic incident caught Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in hot water for criticizing the European Union. “I think Europe has to decide if it wants to live and thrive or if it wants to shrivel and disappear,” he said. Netanyahu is currently in Europe meeting the leaders of Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland.

Arts & Culture

Radiohead Revenge: Radiohead was caught rehearsing All I Need early Wednesday morning in  preparation for their concert tomorrow evening at HaYarkon Park. Radiohead is playing in Israel despite public criticism from BDS proponents like musician Roger Waters and director Ken Loach.

Column of the Day

Brotherly Boycott: In response to the Israeli government’s recent decisions regarding the Western Wall and non-Orthodox conversion, many leading voices in the American Jewish community have called for withholding funding. Alan Dershowitz’s incisive Op-Ed in the Jerusalem Post argues, “The answer is not disengagement, but rather greater engagement with Israel on matters that involve world Jewry.”

Song of the Day

Summertime Soul: Check out the American-Jewish musician Paul Simon’s classic Me and Julio Down by the School. Enjoy the warm weather and go to a park!
