Talking Jews, talking sports

Menschwarmers

The web’s most popular Jewish sports podcast. Join Gabe and Jamie for laid-back interviews, global commentary and surprisingly in-depth investigations into whether athletes whose names sound Jewish actually are. Follow us on Twitter @menschwarmers.

Gabe Pulver

Gabe Pulver is a recovering journalist thrilled to be working with The CJN on Menschwarmers and whatever other projects they throw his way. He’s covered three Olympics as a broadcast researcher and can tell you which athletes were Jewish in all of them. He is also the parent of one son and owner of a very shaky 9 handicap.

James Hirsh

James Hirsh is a civil litigator and one half of the Menschwarmers. He can usually be found cheering on Jewish athletes at all levels of competition or in the cheap seats at the Rogers Centre, cheering on the Blue Jays. He lives with his wife and two children in Toronto.

Support the Media that Speaks to You

Jewish Canadians deserve more than social media rumours, adversarial action alerts, and reporting with biases that are often undisclosed. The Canadian Jewish News proudly offers independent national coverage on issues that impact our audience each day, as a conduit for conversations that bridge generations.

It’s an outlet you can count on—but we’re also counting on you.

Please support Jewish journalism that’s creative, innovative, and dedicated to breaking new ground to serve your community, while building on media traditions of the past 65 years. As a Registered Journalism Organization, contributions of any size are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
