Wonder women promote female empowerment at the UN

Israeli actor Gal Gadot took part in a special ceremony on October 21 in New York City at the United Nations honouring Wonder Woman

Israeli actor Gal Gadot, star of the upcoming Wonder Woman feature film, took part in a special ceremony Oct. 21 in New York City at the United Nations in a ceremony honoring the comic book hero.

The fabled Amazon warrior princess, created by William Moulton Marston in 1941 and published by DC Comics, was appointed a United Nations ambassador for the empowerment of women and girls.

Actor Lynda Carter who portrayed the superhero in the late 1970s also attended the ceremony.

Filming on Wonder Woman has wrapped, and it debuts in theatres on June 2, 2017.
