In honour of Movember, here are the ten most iconic Jewish moustaches

A look at some of the greatest Jewish moustaches of all time, from Einstein to Spitz

November. A month that signifies that Chanukah, and winter vacation, is almost upon us. And, for most of us here in Canada, the time of year to bust out warm socks, gloves, and other winter apparel (note: if you are looking for new winter jackets, you may want to check out Summit Ice, where a portion of the proceeds go towards the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre).

But in recent years, November has also become synonymous with trimming off your facial hair, and growing it in the form of a moustache whilst raising money to raise awareness of men’s health issues like prostate cancer.

Since its inception eleven years ago, Movember has raised $677 million for men’s health; last November Movember, it raised $24 million in Canada alone. Today, the charity campaign is active throughout 21 countries, is immensely popular on social media, and despite naysayers, manages to continuously and actively promote awareness of these important issues.

All in all, the notion of Movember falls very much within the realm of the Jewish concept of tzedakah (the Hebrew word for charity). As such, in our bid to encourage all of you Jewish Mo Bros out there participating in this vital cause, we look at some of the most iconic moustaches (and, technically, one beard) worn by Jewish men over the past few decades.

9. The Communist, worn by Leon Trotsky

8. The Purple Cobra, worn by Ben Stiller (in Dodgeball)
