Phoebe Maltz Bovy, a culture critic and opinion editor at The Canadian Jewish News, explores the modern world of Jewish life—stuck in between dangerous political flanks on both left and right.

The Jewish Angle is a brand-new podcast by The CJN that seeks to make sense of a rapidly-changing cultural and political landscape in North America. It addresses everything from free speech (as pertains to Jews) and diversity initiatives (as pertains to… you guessed it!) to tradwife Zionist influencers, with the occasional pit stop to determine who, if anyone, is the next generation’s Philip Roth.

New episodes will air Tuesdays. Subscribe to be the first to hear it.

Support the Media that Speaks to You

Jewish Canadians deserve more than social media rumours, adversarial action alerts, and reporting with biases that are often undisclosed. The Canadian Jewish News proudly offers independent national coverage on issues that matter, sparking conversations that bridge generations.

It’s an outlet you can count on—but we’re also counting on you.

Please support Jewish journalism that’s creative, innovative, and dedicated to breaking new ground to serve your community, while building on media traditions of the past 65 years. As a Registered Journalism Organization, contributions of any size are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
