The work of award-winning photographer Sheila Reisman will be shown in an exhibition in Collingwood, Ont, this month.

The exhibit of 42 photographs, Heaven and Earth, can be viewed at the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts from June 7 to 26.
Reisman has had numerous group and solo exhibitions and her photographs are in private and corporate collections.
A former model and a world traveller, she moved to Canada 35 years ago and has residences in Toronto and Collingwood.
She has taken photographs in Africa, Europe, Mexico and the United States, as well as in Canada.
Reisman says that she is intrigued by how she is affected by the weather and the environment.
“When I observe a storm, a peaceful blue sky or a calm sea in relation to the sky, I am touched and motivated by the wonders of nature throughout the world.
“I decided that through my Heaven and Earth show, I would document how our home in Collingwood and our beautiful earth influences us. I have eagerly captured beautiful, magical and intriguing skies and ever-changing landscapes.”
Reisman has printed her photographs for the Heaven and Earth show on canvas, in both black and white and colour.
Reisman is the winner of the 2008 Stratford Award and the Ryerson University Award for black and white photography.
She has had solo exhibitions at the Elevator and Sutton galleries in Toronto; the Hospital for Sick Children; and the Engel Gallery in New York. Her photographs can be found in the collections of Merchants Bank of New York; the School of Philosophy in London, England; and the state attorney’s office in Tampa, Fla.
Reisman has donated photographs for many fundraisers and to charitable and arts organizations, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
She will be publishing a photo journal of her works in the near future.
