According to a new poll conducted by Tel Aviv University and the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research in Ramallah, only 43 per cent of Israeli Jews and Palestinians are in favour of a two-state solution, a decline of nine and eight points since 2016, respectively. Support for a two-state solution has been steadily eroding among Jews and Palestinians for a decade, the pollsters noted, although among Israeli Arabs support has largely remained “stable and very high” at 82 per cent.
In a recent meeting with IDF leaders, Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman claimed that every Palestinian killed by Israel in the Gaza Strip in the past four-and-a-half months was a member of the Hamas terrorist group. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, 168 protesters have been killed in Gaza, including children.
The Disney Channel’s live-action Kim Possible movie (based on the successful animated series) has recently cast Christy Carlson Romano and Patton Oswalt in starring roles. The film will be co-directed and co-produced by Canadian Jews Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky, whose upcoming movie, Freaks, will have its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Two thousand youths marched in Tel Aviv on Saturday to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the deadly shooting at the city’s Barnoar queer youth centre. In a statement, event organizers wrote: “In recent weeks there has been a public outcry against the inequality and discrimination of the LGBT community in Israel. We are calling to put a stop to the violence towards the LGBT community.”
