Imam Intolerance: An arrest warranted was issued for Sheikh Muhammad ibn Musa Al Nasr, an imam at a Montreal mosque, for calling Jews “the worst of mankind” and saying he hoped Muslims would slaughter them on Judgment Day.

Ramming Returns: Two Israeli soldiers were lightly injured after a Palestinian driver struck them just north of Hebron. Soldiers subsequently opened fire and killed the attacker.

Journalistic Malpractice: Gretchen Hammond, an award-winning transgender reporter who broke the story of several Jews being expelled from the Chicago Dyke March, was removed from her reporting duties.

Europe

Hungarian Hoopla: After much anxiety surrounding Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to Hungary due to accusations that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had engaged in anti-Semitic behaviour, the trip concluded. According to Ha’aretz, Orban acknowledged to Netanyahu that Hungary had previously co-operated with the Nazis, and that his government will have zero tolerance for future anti-Semitism.

Column of the Day

The Coming Storm: An Op-Ed published in The Atlantic on American Jewry and religion believes the community is at a significant historical juncture. The article quotes an Orthodox rabbi who asserts, “We’re headed toward one of the greatest divisions in the history of Jewish people.”
