Friday again! Here’s some Jewish news:

Today, Jews will join Christians and other groups to form protective ‘rings of peace’ around seven Toronto-area mosques, a show of solidarity in response to the Quebec City mosque shooting that claimed six lives and wounded 19 others.

On the almost eve (erev?) of the Super Bowl, Rabbi Adam Cutler of Beth Tzedec Congregation in Toronto and Rabbi Adam Scheier of Shaar Hashomayim in Montreal meditate on what Jews can learn from the grand event.

Settlement expansion “may not be helpful” in achieving peace between Israel and the Palestinians, according to the Trump administration.

In Manhattan, a Jewish woman was shoved on a subway by a man with a German accent who shouted “Dirty Jew!” and “Hail the Hitler Youth!”

The king of Jordan has warned U.S. President Donald Trump against moving the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Ukraine’s Jewish community is in danger of becoming extinct, the executive director of the Kiev-based Ukrainian Jewish Committee has warned, appealing to Israel for help.

Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook COO and an outspoken critic of President Trump’s policies on reproductive rights, has donated $1 million to Planned Parenthood.
