Your Daily Spiel is The CJN’s daily roundup of trending stories in the Jewish world.

Lotta’ Christian news in the Jewish news today. Here’s some Jewish news:

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops is publicizing its position on Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem, calling it a “scandal” and calling for action by Christians.

Does evangelical support for Israel make you feel grateful? Wary? Bit of both? Ron Csillag investigates some of the factors behind Christian Zionist’s love of the holy land.

READ: A NEW PHARAOH RISES, AND IT’S DONALD TRUMP

Of President Donald Trump’s executive order to bar entry to refugees and immigrants from some Muslim countries, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League in the United States said, “History will look back on this order as… the time when the president turned his back on people fleeing for their lives.” The ADL was one of several American Jewish groups to condemn the order and invoke the history of Jewish refugees vying to enter the U.S.

Heartthrob Shia LaBeouf – actor, performance artist and Jew – was arrested earlier today after grabbing and scratching the face of an onlooker at an anti-Trump protest who reportedly said, “Hitler did nothing wrong.”

In other celebrity news, Scarlett Johansson has reportedly separated from her husband. (SHE’S JEWISH, GUYS)!

And, a Forward writer asks a rabbi the strangely topical question, “Is it OK to punch a Nazi?”
