SCHWARTZMAN REUNION

A special reunion of past guests of the Schwartzman Farm, a 200-acre farm in Saint-Charles-Bromée near Joliette, visited from the 1920s through the 1950s by generations of Jewish visitors, takes place all day at its historic stone farmhouse. During the period, the area was very popular during the summer for Jewish families, who operated several farms. The  stone farmhouse on the farm run by Harry Schwartzman and his wife Dora Bernstein was later purchased and renovated by Senator Serge Royal and became a cultural centre – called Maison Antoine-Lacombe – with lush gardens. Former farm guests have already sent photos for the reunion. Also on display will be paintings by Schwartzman’s grandson, David. He can be contacted at 514-484-7537, or e-mailed at [email protected].
