Your Daily Spiel is The CJN’s daily roundup of trending stories in the Jewish world.

Aid groups deny terrorist threats: NGOs that distribute aid to Palestinians typically refuse to enforce anti-terror policies, and the consequences are bad for pretty much everyone, writes Becca Wertman, deputy editor at NGO Monitor, in a piece for The CJN.

Beauty in decay: Toronto photographer David Kaufman has been capturing decaying eastern European Jewish heritage sites for a decade. His work is currently being shown at the Reuben and Helene Dennis Museum at Beth Tzedec Congregation.

Jews not wanted: A survey of 18 countries in eastern and central Europe found that over 10 per cent of residents don’t accept Jews as citizens of their countries.

Non-religious weddings wanted: More than half of Jewish Israelis want to be able to have weddings that don’t involve the country’s Chief Rabbinate, a new survey finds.

Man in white can’t dance: On Monday, Pope Francis (sort of) danced with a delegation of chassidic Jews at the Vatican. (Watch the video for yourself, he’s really doing more of a barely perceptible bop.)

Toobin trashes Trump: CNN legal affairs analyst and New Yorker writer Jeffrey Toobin used choice words to express his view of U.S. President Donald Trump’s firing FBI Director James Comey, including referring to the move as a “grotesque abuse of power.”
