Columnist Michael Diamond takes issue with columnist Mira Sucharov’s recent piece that he says makes “moral judgments about the actions of our Jewish brethren in Israel” and draws what he argues are false comparisons between the 150th anniversary of Canada’s founding and the 50th anniversary of Israel’s victory in 1967.

According to B’nai Brith Canada’s Annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents, anti-Semitism reached an unprecedented high in 2016, with a significant rise in incidents in particular areas. 

Belgium’s Walloon region has voted to ban kosher and halal meats, a decision the European Jewish Congress has strongly condemned.

A memorial to Anne Frank in Boise, Idaho, was vandalized with anti-Semitic and racial slurs.

U.S. President Donald Trump’s two-day visit to Israel on May 22 will include stops at Masada and the Western Wall, plus meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
