Editor scolds own paper: The New York Times‘s public editor Liz Spayd said the newspaper should have clarified that Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti, whose op-ed was published in the paper Sunday, is a convicted murderer of Israeli Jews.

Students challenge Birthright: A letter signed by by 575 students representing 97 colleges and universities across the United States, plus three high schools, is challenging Birthright to take a stand against a new Israeli law that would bar entry to foreigners who support boycotting the country.

Are you there God? The (Jewish) mother of capturing adolescent awkwardness in all its glory, author Judy Blume, will be given a lifetime achievement award for children’s literature this May.
