The CJN is hosting a new podcast tackling big questions about Israel—and we want to hear from you

'Five Questions About Israel' will start airing summer 2023.

The CJN is launching a new sponsored podcast miniseries hosted by Yaron Deckel, a decorated Israeli journalist and current head of the Canadian branch of the Jewish Agency for Israel, and Dan Brotman, CEO of the Windsor Jewish Federation & Community Centre.

Together, we’re asking big questions about Israel—and inviting you, the listener, to participate. Each episode, we’ll tackle a different question:

  1. Are your views on Israel different from those of your parents?
  2. When, if ever, should Canadian communal organizations voice public criticism of Israel?
  3. How do we balance our domestic philanthropic needs with the needs of Israeli organizations?
  4. What are Israel’s obligations towards Diaspora communities?
  5. Are your views on Israel represented by our mainstream communal organizations?

Email [email protected] with your thoughts and answers—and we might ask you to come on the show to chat with us. After all, this entire podcast will be a dialogue between us and real-life everyday Jewish Canadians. Have your voice heard, get engaged and subscribe to this podcast to catch all five episodes, airing summer 2023.

Support the Media that Speaks to You

Jewish Canadians deserve more than social media rumours, adversarial action alerts, and reporting with biases that are often undisclosed. The Canadian Jewish News proudly offers independent national coverage on issues that impact our audience each day, as a conduit for conversations that bridge generations.

It’s an outlet you can count on—but we’re also counting on you.

Please support Jewish journalism that’s creative, innovative, and dedicated to breaking new ground to serve your community, while building on media traditions of the past 65 years. As a Registered Journalism Organization, contributions of any size are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
