Your Daily Spiel is The CJN’s daily roundup of trending stories in the Jewish world.

I know, I know. Here’s some Jewish news:

CJN reporter Lila Sarick has investigated where the Jewish day school system is at, what with rising costs of tuition and families’ flatlining incomes. (Spoiler: It’s not great).

February has been declared Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion (JDAIM) month, and in addition to the host of events being rolled out by the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre and UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, Jewish agencies will be heading to Parliament Feb. 21 to advocate for rights for Jews with disabilities and will provide input for the government’s planned Canadians With Disabilities Act.

In his column this week, CJN‘s editor-in-chief Yoni Goldstein argues that the two lessons of the Shoah – the dangers of anti-Semitism in particular, and intolerance and hatred writ large – seem to have gone missing from the White House.

Ha’aretz provides live updates of the Israeli evacuation of the West Bank settler outpost of Amona, including the evacuation of the synagogue.

In Britain, Jews have recorded the highest-ever number of anti-Semitic incidents this year, with 1,309 reported incidents in 2016. This number included 107 cases of physical assault.

A report in the Wall Street Journal says that former U.S. congressman Anthony Weiner, who’s become infamous for sending explicit photos of himself to women he’s met online, could be facing federal child pornography charges.
