Matzah Ball Record

NEW YORK — The world’s largest-ever matzah ball was unveiled in New York last week as part of PR for an Oct. 18 basketball game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and the NBA’s New York Knicks. The 267-pound colossus was slow-boiled for two days in New Jersey in a 100-gallon kettle. Game proceeds will benefit Migdal Ohr, Israel’s largest orphanage.

Oxfam Denies Split

NEW YORK — Oxfam International is denying a report it cut ties with a Sex and the City star because she endorses an Israeli firm that operates in the West Bank. The New York Post reported that  Kristin Davis is no longer an Oxfam spokesperson because she does ads for Ahava cosmetics, which makes its products in the Mitzpe Shalem settlement. An Oxfam spokesperson said, however, that Davis and Oxfam haven’t cut ties but are figuring out how to handle what could become a “distraction” from the work of Oxfam, which has advocated against settlements in the past.
