Ryerson recasts anti-Semitism: Ryerson’s student union adopted a new definition of anti-Semitism, apparently amid reports that the head of a university program has resigned over anti-Semitic tweets. The new definition qualifies “the denial of Jews’ right to self-determination” as anti-Semitic, among other things.

Canadian JDLer arrested: A member of JDL Canada was arrested in D.C. for assaulting a Palestinian-American man. JDL Canada’s national director Meir Weinstein posted provocative before/after photos of the assault victim on his Facebook wall earlier this week. 

 

Millennials for Moishe House: Federation CJA wants to open a Moishe House in Montreal, and is on the lookout for four Jewish millennials to run it.

Montreal’s first Jewish mayor to serve time: Former Montreal mayor Michael Applebaum has been sentenced to one year in prison.

Curbing settlements for Trump?: Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he’ll curb settlement construction as a goodwill gesture to U.S. President Donald Trump.

Flood of support for Krief’s widow: A GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the wife of Jewish cancer patient Adam Krief, who died this month after his search for a bone marrow donor, has, in just three days, raised over $130,000.
