What’s really refreshing about Drake, in addition to the fact that his influence as a Jewish Canadian is unparalleled on the international pop culture stage, is his ability to take everything in stride. Where many rappers like to maintain this ‘hard’ image and don’t take comments, or parody videos, lightly, it seems Drake usually doesn’t let things bother him.
Drake has become more than just a rapper, he’s an icon; Instagram pages (like this one), twitter hashtags, parody videos and more have been devoted to his existence, his traits, and now, thanks to his new video for “Hotline Bling”, his distinctive dance traits.
From the moment he shared the video for what’s likely to be the first No. 1 Billboard hit of his career, there have been an abundance of parodies, jokes, memes, and gifs.
Of course, #DrakeDancingTo, and #DrakeAlwaysOnBeat are both trending on Twitter.
This one, in particular, substituting “Hotline Bling” for Elvis Crespo’s classic, “Suavemente,” has already received 12 million views on Facebook.

The Rugrats and Frasier parodies are also going viral:

The latest parody, however, is one that hits closest to home, depicting the famous Jewish rapper dancing to a slowed down version of “Hava Nagila,” the first Jewish-themed clip involving him since he threw himself an adult Bar Mitzvah in “HYFR.”
Mazel tov on always being a topic of conversation at the water coolers, Drizzy. You’ve earned it.
