Food processor makes homemade easier

The word homemade can bring a great sense of pride to a baker, but lack of time or interest often makes baking from scratch out of the question.

Enter the food processor. It puts homemade into the realm of possibility for many. There are so many recipes where you simply add all the ingredients into your food processor, process for less than a minute, pour the mixture into a pan and bake. Viola! Delicious homemade cake.

Enter the food processor. It puts homemade into the realm of possibility for many. There are so many recipes where you simply add all the ingredients into your food processor, process for less than a minute, pour the mixture into a pan and bake. Viola! Delicious homemade cake.

One thing to remember when making cake batter in a food processor, however, is to not overdo it. Just process the batter until all the ingredients are incorporated. Overprocessing can result in dense, heavy cakes. Also cakes that rely on beaten-in air bubbles such as chiffon cake don’t do well when made in a food processor. The machine cannot whip enough air into the batter.
